Mick Sterling Presents proudly presents a tribute to the incredible 1970s catalog of Joni Mitchell—an artist who "...may stand as the most important and influential female recording artist of the late 20th century" (AllMusic). During the 1970s, Joni Mitchell expanded beyond her folk roots, and began a journey into musical experimentation which spanned six studio albums ("For the Roses," "Court and Spark," "The Hissing of Summer Lawns," "Hejira," "Don Juan's Reckless Daughter" and "Mingus") and also yielded two live albums ("Miles of Aisles" and "Shadows and Light")—all under the Asylum Records label. Her musical collaborators during this season reads as a rogue's gallery of top session and live performers, including Tom Scott, Larry Carlton, John Guerin, Pat Metheny, Michael Brecker, Jaco Pastorius and Charles Mingus, to name a few.

JONI - A Tribute to the Asylum Records Session Years features vocalists Leslie Ball and Katie Gearty singing these iconic songs, supported by a collective of top-notch Twin Cities session players.
