As an unarmed, paid civilian protection force, Nonviolent Peaceforce fosters dialogue among parties in conflict and provides a protective presence for threatened civilians.
With the headquarters in Ferney Voltaire (France) and an office in Minneapolis, NP field teams are presently deployed in the Philippines, in South Sudan, Myanmar and the Middle East. Our field staff include veterans of conflict zones, experienced peacekeepers, and those new to the field with the right combination of experience, skills, aptitude and attitude. Her career has taken her down many musical roads. She began her performing as a long time member of the Grammy Award winning Sounds of Blackness, touring across the United States.
Her theatrical credits include: the World Premiere of DEATH IN THE FAMILY with the Minnesota Opera Company, SELMA with the Penumbra Theatre Company, BLACK BELTS at the Mixed Blood Theatre, STAMPING, SHOUTING & SINGING HOME with the Children's Theatre Company, SMOKEY JOE'S CAFE at Hey City Theater, Black Nativity (Penumbra), HAIRSPRAY (Chanhassen Dinner Theatre). and most recently THE COLOR PURPLE (Park Square Theater).
Sanford Moore (Composer, Pianist, Arranger, Producer) is perhaps most noted as the Founder, Director, Arranger for the award-winning vocal jazz ensemble Moore by Four. He has traveled extensively with his ensemble doing concerts and workshops in the US, Europe and Japan; has shared the stage with such notable jazz artists as Bobby McFerrin, Harry Connick, Jr., the late Joe Williams, Sarah Vaughn, Dizzy Gillespie and Carmen McRae.
Penumbra Theater’s By the Way Meet Vera Stark, The Ballad of Emmet Till, The Amen Corner, Come on Children Let’s Sing: an Evening with Mahalia Jackson, I Wish You Love, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Black Pearl Sings, Black Nativity, Ain’t Misbehavin’, Get Ready and Dinah Was. Threads Dance Company; Composer for “Warriors of Light”; Hot Chocolate at Park Square Theater; The Guthrie Theater productions of “To Kill a Mocking Bird”, “Choir Boy”, “Crowns”, “Dream on Monkey Mountain” (directed by Bill T. Sanford’s choral experience includes pianist for Hannibal Lokumbe’s world premier of the choral work “The Spirit of Being” commissioned and performed by VocalEssence; a 10 year appointment as Adjunct Professor at the U of M School of Music conducting the U of M Gospel Choir, and Minister of Music for Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Minneapolis.
